Ruth Davidson, the Conservatives' lesbian candidate in the Glasgow North-East by-election, has just beaten British National Party (BNP)'s Charlie Baillie in the race for third place. The Labour candidate Willie Bain comfortably won the seat.


A nationwide survey of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Ireland has found that their top concerns are equality in the workplace, anti-gay violence and bullying.


A ten-year-old boy from Arkansas has refused to pledge allegiance to the flag until gays and lesbians have equal rights. Will Phillips said some of his peers had called him gay slurs over his choice.

(Russia) Gay and Lesbian Film Festival “Bok o Bok” which was supposed to take place in Saint Petersburg from today and last until Sunday finally did not open after Fire Department Inspectors closed the place due to problems with fire security. In a phone interview to Project GayRussia.Ru, Organiser of the festival Irina Sergeeva said that the clubs “The Place” and “Sochi” where the screenings of the films were supposed to take place, were closed due to fire security reasons.
