No Or Both Gender Male Female Restroom Sign - Gender Neutral Restroom Bathroom SignLet me repeat myself:

I get angry reading about the same tactics over and over again against LGBT  civil rights legislation - You just can't sell me that this isn't about hate when were seeing these same, hateful "Christian" mistruths and fear tactics used over and over again. When do we develop some good answers to his and his "Christian" peers' lies and fear tactics?

The ad below, by Citizens for Good Public Policy, is a for a Gainesville, Florida referendum to repeal a civil rights ordinance:

I don't look like that actor behaving like a predator shown in the ad when I go to use a public restroom; I don't act like a predator when I go use a public restroom -- I just go to the bathroom. So do other trans people. And hey, sexually predatory behavior in any public bathroom is unlawful everywhere in the U.S. -- despite what the ad says and the ad implies, the behavior shown in the ad isn't legal.

If there were documented cases of transpeople having acted like predators in public bathrooms, or documented cases of male predators dressing as women to molest women and children in public bathrooms, then you can bet that organizations like Citizens for Good Public Policy would be citing the cases. What does it tell you when they don't cite studies or cases?

As it is, my trans peers (and I personally) are portrayed as potential predators -- facts to support the claims and implications appear not to be needed. Frankly, it sucks raw eggs.

(From today, there's a another story -- this time from Massachusetts -- that covers a similar "bathroom predator" argument. That story is highlighted in PHB's Quick Hits.)

On Friday I blogged about the brazen dismissal of David Hill, who was the director of human resources for the ARTE' Hotel. His employer, the owner Tarun Surti, specifically stated that he did so because Hill is gay. While the hotel's employee manual expressly states that discrimination based on sexual orientation is prohibited, the state of Tennessee has no anti-discrimination protections covering sexual orientation or gender identity. Surti instructed assistant general manager Leonard Stoddard, who disagreed with the decision, to fire Hill.

Today Pam's House Blend spoke with David Hill, and he said that after speaking with the media about his case, Stoddard (who is also openly gay) was given his walking papers by Surti, via email, no less. Stoddard had predicted that he would be the next to go. (Out&About):

"I am here in the office and shocked to hear what you had said to the media," Surti wrote in the email to Stoddard. "If it is true that you told media that David was fired because he is gay, you obviously told them a lie. Such behavior is subject to immediate termination and I would like you to restrain from coming to the hotel."

Surti previously told O&AN that Hill was fired because the company was 'scaling down' its workforce in order to survive in the troubled economy. The ex-employees claim that they were fired after Surti received a letter from a former employee which outted the hotel's gay staff.

Hill has filed complaints with the EEOC and Department of Labor and even if the prospects for winning the case were good, Surti says he is broke -- he has declared personal bankruptcy and the hotel is also in bankruptcy. In his conversation with the Blend, Hill stated that Surti has taken a hotel that had a staff of 140 and "scaled back" to staff of 50 and service is compromised. The owner, according to Hill, has told the court that he can turn the business around through these staffing changes.

It's hard to imagine how he can since Hill says there isn't even a supervisor for the front desk or for guest services, with recent hires being elevated into administrative positions and other green staff in the positions of general manager and HR director.

Hill is first and foremost concerned about finding gainful employment after this discriminatory act by his former employer. "With the economy in Nashville, jobs are hard to find. I'm not sure what we'll do."

A demonstration is planned outside the hotel (760 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood, TN) on Saturday, January 17 at 9AM.

PepsiCo gives $1,000,000 to help promote the gay agenda

Company forces employees to attend sexual orientation classes

January 8, 2009

PepsiCo has refused a request by AFA to remain neutral in the culture war. The company indicated that it will continue major financial support of homosexual organizations. AFA wrote Pepsi two times (on October 14 and October 29) requesting a meeting to discuss Pepsi's neutrality in the culture war.

On November 17, AFA received a condescending letter (dated Nov. 7) from Paul Boykas, director, public policy, in which he refused to address Pepsi's support of the homosexual agenda.

In the last two years, Pepsi has given $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The $1,000,000 was to be used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace. Pepsi refuses to give money to any pro-family organization that opposes the homosexual agenda. Plus, every homosexual organization we know of is overwhelmingly pro-abortion.

Both HRC and PFLAG supported efforts in California to defeat Proposition 8 which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC, the homosexual group financially supported by Pepsi, gave $2.3 million to defeat Prop 8.

Pepsi forces all employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training where they are taught to accept homosexuality.
