HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Shepard Fairey will judge an art contest based on graphic "remixes" of his poster DEFEND EQUALITY LOVE UNITES which he produced by commission from FAIR (Freedom Action Inclusion Rights), a grass-roots organization formed to promote equal rights and combat homophobia. The contest launched over two weeks ago on deviantART.com, the largest community of artists ever assembled. The contest, which challenges deviantART members to re-conceive Shepard's 'Defend Equality Love Unites' image, has exploded since its debut. To date, there is a contentious but organic online dialogue from the deviantART community with comments numbering more than 6,000 individual posts and over 1400 submissions.
