Ryan Metzler
(Photo by Jeff Code) ''I'm very aware of the fact that I'm not the tallest person in the world,'' says Ryan Metzler. Just how tall is the stunning 20-year-old? ''I'm 5'7" and a half,'' he says, adding with a laugh, ''You can't forget the half!''
Metzler knows his height is a limitation to making modeling a career, something that does intrigue him. (''I'm even short for a girl model,'' he acknowledges.) But obviously, height is no hindrance in the Coverboy contest, its own form of modeling. ''It feels kind of special,'' Metzler says about making it in this year's top three.
And he should feel special. Not only did hundreds of people he's never met vote for him -- his entire family did, too. ''I mean, I hope so! I told them to,'' he says with a grin. ...more

Ayala, 22, woke up screaming with joy the morning after he found out he had been voted one of three finalists for Coverboy of the Year.

Grant Cleveland

For starters, Metro Weekly asked Grant what was on his nightstand. A light and a phone? Okay, no surprises there. A 900-year-old Abyssinian coin from Iraq? Well, that was a Coverboy first.
"My best friend, Kari -- I've known her for 20 years -- she went over to Iraq as a civilian," Cleveland says of his District digs roommate, a woman he met years ago at Western Kentucky University. At the marketplace where she stumbled across this relic, a co-worker assured her it was the real deal. She bought two and had them made into necklaces. "She has one and I have one." ...more
